| Proceed
down the track with Badger Well Water on the left and pass through a stile, a gate, and a
kissing-gate leading to an open pasture. Walk down the field with the cottages of Top Row
now visible to the right and cross over a small wooden stile going straight ahead through
the field to an iron kissing-gate at the end of a row of cottages. This row, formerly
Grimshaw Terrace, was built in 1792 by the Grimshaw family to house mill workers. Its name
has since been changed to Badger Well Cottages. |
