One man and his dog, Colin Cooke and his faithful four-legged friend, can be seen on a daily basis roaming the fells of Sabden. Colin knows the land in and around Sabden like the back of his hand and has kindly given verbal permission for a publication of his from 1996, detailing what he has named 'The Sabden Way', to be reproduced here. The production of the booklet sparked off another enterprise; to create a video tape of the walk. This venture was locally based and the intention was never more than to recuperate costs. Demand for the video exceeded all expectations and copies were sent off to all corners of the globe. Alas it became necessary to call a halt to the production and those unlucky enough not to have obtained one of this limited circulation must make do with the following transcript of the walk. |
