The Sabden Way

A Circular Walk Round the Beautiful Sabden Valley - 9 miles

Stainscombe Farm Continue up the track, keeping left up the subsequent well-defined track to the old farmhouse. This is Stainscombe Farm dating from 1598 and is currently being renovated by Simon Gill, eldest son of the late Mr and Mrs Roy Gill of Ratten Clough Farm. Stainscombe was occupied in the 18th century by two men from Luton who made imitation beaver hats. These were called Lancashire Beaver Hats and were made from rabbit skin and wool.
