On the 7th September 1991 at 1.30pm Sabden Crown Green Bowling Club was officially opened and the first bowl was bowled. The dream was realised.

As the years went by the membership increased and, in addition to organising local competitions, teams were raised to take part in the Hyndburn and Ribble Valley and the Burnley bowling leagues.

It was soon appreciated that the catering facilities were woefully inadequate and Sabden took upon itself another task...
